🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, at Scott AFB, Illinois, a group of trainees observed a reddish round object that made an unusual turn. Despite no photos or radar, the reports suggest it could be an aircraft. The object was visible for 6 to 8 minutes, drawing attention due to its unexpected path. The air base submitted a detailed report, though no physical evidence was found.
The object was described as the size of a golf to tennis ball, with a movement that included a large turn back west. Although initially considered a balloon, wind conditions and trajectory pointed to an aerial explanation. The lack of physical data and absence of radar coverage kept the mystery, but officials concluded it was likely an aircraft. The official report classifies it as such, closing one of many Cold War enigmas.
