🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, a witness in Lake Worth, Florida, spotted an object resembling a star, about the size of a dime, and with a reddish hue. The object moved between clouds for several seconds. Although the possibility of it being an aircraft, a meteor, or even the Sputnik satellite was mentioned, no definitive conclusion was reached due to the lack of concrete data. The report noted that several aircraft were in the area, complicating the precise identification of the object.
The report did not include photographs or radar records, further limiting the analysis. Despite ruling out Sputnik due to direction, the simple visual observation did not allow for the elimination of other conventional explanations. This case reflects the difficulty researchers at the time had in distinguishing between natural phenomena and unidentified objects.
