🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, a woman in Cathedral City, California, observed a black rocket-shaped object moving northeast. The object, described as similar to the fuselage of a small plane, made no noise and appeared to be spinning as it fell. Several witnesses agreed it was neither a bird nor an aircraft. Despite attempts to locate the object with surveying equipment, it remained undetected. The weather was clear with excellent visibility, adding to the mystery of the sighting.
The official investigation could not conclusively identify the object. Possibilities like an unusual bird or an aircraft in an odd attitude were considered, but no flight records were found for the area at that time. The witnesses, including children, gave consistent descriptions, adding credibility to the report. Although the incident was linked to the Sputnik rocket, this theory was not confirmed. The case remains unsolved, like many from that era.
