🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, several sightings in New Orleans caught the attention of Project 10073. A civilian described a blimp-shaped object with a shiny surface moving northwest for 1 to 1.5 minutes. Although no photos were taken, the report concluded it was likely an aircraft due to the duration and flight path. Another sighting reported by a woman described an oval-shaped object, brilliantly illuminated with a pinkish tint, moving at high speed without sound. Investigators considered it a meteor, though they did not rule out an overactive imagination.
A third case, reported by a Coast Guard officer, described a bright white object descending for 20 minutes, changing colors and splitting into three parts. Despite the unusual duration, analysts could not identify the object with certainty. These reports reflect the variety of aerial phenomena that generated curiosity and debate at the time, with no clear explanation in many cases.
