🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, soldiers on patrol at White Sands, New Mexico, reported two sightings of unidentified flying objects. The first, during a night patrol, described a bright, fuzzy object descending slowly before disappearing. The second, hours later, showed a pulsating light that ascended until it looked like a star. Investigators concluded the first sighting was likely the setting moon and the second, the planet Venus. Despite this, the young and impressionable witnesses, influenced by the recent Levelland case, exaggerated details of their sightings, fueling local and national panic.
