🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, a group of students in Long Beach, New York, observed a bright object that changed in brightness and size. It was described as round, white, and emitting light rays. Although it initially caused alarm, scrambled fighters concluded there was no threat. Observers noted that Venus was bright and located in the same direction as the sighting. This coincidence led investigators to identify the event as astronomical, not an unknown object.
The official report marked the observation as "astronomical," ruling out other possibilities like balloons or aircraft. Despite the clear explanation, the case remains interesting due to the immediate reaction from air authorities and the detailed description from witnesses.
