🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1957, an electrical storm in Texas triggered hundreds of UFO sightings. Witnesses described oval or round objects with white or green light that caused car engines to fail. Most reported the objects hovering or moving slowly above the ground. The Air Force concluded it was a rare atmospheric phenomenon known as "ball lightning," supported by meteorological data and scientific analysis. The storm, rain, and low clouds were key factors, though some cases remain unexplained.
The official investigation ruled out balloons, aircraft, or astronomical objects, attributing the sightings to unusual weather conditions. While some witnesses had a history of fabrications, the storm and low cloud cover were central to the phenomenon. Despite media attention, the official conclusion was clear: no evidence of extraterrestrial craft.
