Two mysterious craters, 7 to 8 meters in diameter, have been discovered near the Kursk nuclear power station, puzzling experts. According to specialists, such hollows could only result from the explosion of a 500-kg bomb. However, no explosions have been recorded in the area, and there are no signs of ejected earth, metal fragments, or fire traces. Initial studies failed to provide a clear explanation, and radiation levels remained within natural background limits. Soil and water samples from one of the craters showed nothing unusual, and no seismic fluctuations have been recorded in the region.
Civil defense and emergency personnel, along with specialists, are exploring several theories. The leading hypothesis is that a large meteorite fell in the area. A few days prior, many people reported seeing a fiery object in the sky and pillars of fire near the craters. While no conclusive evidence has been found, the possibility of an extraterrestrial impact remains a working theory.
