🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A round glowing object was observed on November 5, 1957, southwest of New Orleans. It was described as brighter at the edges and dimmer in the center. As night fell, the object faded. Although a balloon was considered, no definitive conclusion was reached. The case was classified as insufficient for evaluation due to lack of precise data.
Weather conditions at the time indicated winds from the southwest, which could explain the object's movement northeast. Witnesses included members of a ship's crew, who reported the sighting in detail. Despite the descriptions, there were no photos or radar data, further limiting the possibility of identifying the phenomenon with certainty.
