🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A Coast Guard officer reported a bright object seen in the Gulf of Mexico in 1957. The object, described as a "brilliant planet," was observed for a few seconds and moved in concentric circles around the ship. Although no photos were taken, witnesses claimed the object left no trail and had no defined shape. The Air Force concluded it was probably an aircraft, but other explanations were not ruled out. This case is part of a wave of sightings during the Cold War era, when space advancements generated great interest.
