In December 1957, two sightings of unidentified flying objects were recorded in Massachusetts and New York. An Air Force pilot observed a round object, the size of a dime, with a reddish-green, fiery appearance falling straight down. A citizen from Lake George described a bright blue-green object with an orange tail moving northwest. Both events were classified as astronomical phenomena, possibly fireballs. Although other explanations such as balloons or aircraft were considered, no photos or sufficient data were obtained to confirm the sightings definitively.
