Summary

In December 1957, a tower operator in South Weymouth, New Jersey, observed three bright, icy blue-white objects the size of a basketball, moving in a straight line from east to west. The witness described them as very close together, one following the other, and they disappeared from view after about three minutes. Despite the clear sky and detailed account, the official report concluded they were likely aircraft lights. The area was known for heavy air traffic, supporting this explanation.

The official report, though detailed, found no clear cause and suggested the observer might have mistaken aircraft landing lights for unidentified objects. Although there were no photos or radar data, the sighting was carefully recorded, including weather conditions and the observer's exact location. This case, like many from the era, reflects the uncertainty and fascination with unexplained aerial phenomena in the 1950s.
