Summary

In December 1957, multiple observers across the northeastern United States reported an aerial phenomenon that initially caused confusion. The object was seen from Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey, with descriptions including bright lights, orange and red hues, and straight or slightly curved trajectories. Although some witnesses thought it could be an aircraft or balloon, later analyses concluded it was a meteorite. The sightings coincided with Earth's entry into a meteor shower, supporting the astronomical hypothesis. Observations ranged from 3 to 45 seconds, and both airborne and ground witnesses confirmed typical fireball characteristics. Despite the lack of physical evidence, weather data and trajectory calculations reinforced the conclusion that this was a natural event, not an unexplained phenomenon.
