🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1957, a witness in North Dakota spotted a round object with a cone shape in front, the size of a baseball, silver in color, with long fire trails behind. The sighting lasted only 8 seconds and moved from east to west. Although initially considered a possible meteor, the data was inconclusive. The observation was recorded as possibly an optical illusion, perhaps influenced by comments about satellites re-entering the atmosphere.
The report includes details on weather and wind conditions at altitude, though precise cloud cover or visibility data was lacking. Interestingly, ten minutes after the sighting, there was a snow shower, suggesting atmospheric conditions may have contributed to the perception of the object. Despite the detailed description, there were no radar confirmations or other sightings in the area, leaving the case unresolved.
