In December 1957, a witness in Westchester, New York, reported a large balloon-like object in the sky. The object had a bowl-like shape with flat top and bottom, moved in a straight line, and disappeared from view. However, the report lacked essential data such as elevation, azimuth, or wind information, making any serious evaluation impossible. Investigators concluded that there was insufficient data to determine whether it was a balloon, an aircraft, or an astronomical phenomenon.
The report was classified as inadequate for a proper evaluation, and it was noted that missing key details prevented a more accurate understanding of the event. Despite the visual description of the object, the lack of meteorological context and tracking limited any analysis beyond speculation. This case is an example of how the absence of detailed information can turn a sighting into an unresolved mystery.
