Summary

In December 1957, Taichung, Formosa, reported eight sightings of unidentified flying objects. Witnesses described bright white objects, some wheel-like, others like meteors moving at varying speeds. One account mentioned a stationary object before it faded, while another reported white material falling silently. Despite the number of observations, authorities concluded there was insufficient data for a definitive evaluation.

Descriptions ranged from slow-moving bright objects to fast-moving lights heading north or southwest. Although telescopes were used to observe some phenomena, there were no photos or radar records. The lack of concrete data and the variety of testimonies made any clear classification difficult. The reports were archived without a conclusive explanation, leaving open the possibility of balloons, aircraft, or astronomical events.
