🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1958, a U.S. Air Force pilot at Bitburg Air Base in Germany observed an unidentified flying object with an irregular flight path. The object, the size of a dime, displayed red, greenish yellow, and a slight blue color. Although the pilot observed it for three minutes, he could not determine its exact shape due to its erratic movement. The irregularity of its flight was what caught the observer's attention, as the object moved side to side while ascending toward an overhead position.
Classified reports indicate that the intelligence officer concluded the object was likely a balloon, though other possibilities were not ruled out. The description of its flight and changing colors caused some confusion, as it did not match typical aircraft or astronomical phenomena. Despite no photographs or radar use, the report was distributed to several USAFE units. This case is another example of UFO reports from the time, reflecting the curiosity and vigilance of the era.
