🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian photographer, Almiro Barauna, captured images of a discoid object over Trindade Island, Brazil, in January 1958. The object, described as metallic gray and Saturn-shaped, was observed by several crew members of the ship Almirante Saldanha. The photographs, developed immediately afterward, showed an object that could not be explained as a bird or balloon. The Brazilian Navy investigated the case but did not reach definitive conclusions. The images, considered authentic after technical analysis, generated controversy and debate within the scientific and UFO communities.
The photographs were taken in less than 30 seconds and quickly developed in the presence of officers. Barauna, along with other witnesses, described the object as silent and with rapid movements. Despite the lack of conclusive data, the existence of multiple witnesses and verification by military technicians added credibility to the case. The incident became one of the most documented UFO cases in history, notable for its rigor and the involvement of official institutions.
