🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1958, a witness in DeLand, Florida observed a mysterious object in the sky. The report describes a blurry object with a reddish or orange hue, approximately the size of Mars. The witness noted that the object had a pinkish or yellowish tint, but no clear identification was possible. The observation lasted between 2 and 5 minutes and was deemed insufficient for a conclusive evaluation. Despite the lack of clear details, the testimony is part of the Project 10073 records, which collected reports on unidentified aerial phenomena.
The report includes a series of detailed questions about the observation, such as the exact location, weather conditions, and the object's appearance. The witness did not use optical instruments and there were no other witnesses present. The official conclusion did not reach a clear identification, leaving open the possibility that the object was a balloon, an astronomical phenomenon, or even an aircraft. Although no images or additional data were obtained, the case reflects the methodology of information collection during the era of UFO studies by the military.
