🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1958, a witness in Atlanta, Georgia, observed a long and slender object moving downward along a clear trajectory. The object, described as resembling a telephone pole, displayed changing colors from red to orange, bright yellow, and a greenish-yellow with sparks. The sighting lasted only two seconds, and no photographs were taken. The report concluded that the phenomenon was likely a fireball or bolide, given the description, trajectory, and duration of the event.
The Dobbins Air Base forwarded the report to the Air Defense Command (ADC) and the Air Force Intelligence Directorate. Although it might initially seem like an unidentified object, experts considered it a common astronomical phenomenon. The report found no evidence that it was a balloon, aircraft, or any other unconventional object. This case is an example of how UFO sightings are often explained by natural phenomena once investigated.
