In January 1958, a witness in Peoria, Illinois, reported an elliptical object approximately 14 by 28 feet in size, with a dull aluminum finish and triangular fins resembling those of a 1958 Chrysler. The object, which made no sound, slowly ascended without maneuvers and vanished to the west. Although several drivers stopped to look, local authorities had no record of the incident.
