🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1958, a witness in Peoria, Illinois, reported an elliptical object approximately 14 by 28 feet in size, with a dull aluminum finish and triangular fins resembling those of a 1958 Chrysler. The object, which made no sound, slowly ascended without maneuvers and vanished to the west. Although several drivers stopped to look, local authorities had no record of the incident. The Air Force concluded there was insufficient data for evaluation, despite the object's proximity to the ground and the 10-minute observation period.
The object was described as having balls at the end of each fin and a design reminiscent of cars from that era. The Air Force attempted to contact local authorities for more information but found no additional records. This led to speculation that the report might be a misinterpretation of a known object, though the observers were deemed sincere. The case remains unresolved, adding a touch of mystery to this mid-20th-century UFO report.
