🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1958, a U.S. Air Force C-54 reported a circular green-orange object the size of a grapefruit that emitted a bright flash. The incident occurred west of Wake Island, and the pilot believed he was being shot at. The report details that the object was observed by the flight engineer and detected on radar, but its nature remained unclear. Authorities considered the possibility of a meteor or aircraft, but no conclusive evidence was found.
The report includes testimonies from the crew and weather data, though no military activity or anti-aircraft fire was detected in the area. Despite investigations, the phenomenon remains unexplained, and officials concluded it could have been an astronomical object or an unidentified aircraft. The crew, especially the commander, expressed concern about the unusual nature of the flash, which did not match typical flares.
