🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1958, a civilian pilot reported a bright object shaped like a basketball over West Virginia. The sighting lasted only 15 seconds, but it left a strong impression. The object, described as blue-green in color, was moving downward before it disappeared. Although a meteor or balloon were considered, no definitive conclusion was reached.
The report, part of Project 10073, was classified as "insufficient for evaluation," suggesting the possibility of an unidentified phenomenon was not completely ruled out. The brief nature of the sighting and lack of photographs complicated the analysis. However, the observer's testimony and detailed description remain an intriguing piece of UFO history.
