🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1958, an officer with the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a report about metallic material falling from the sky near Akron. The officer arrived at the scene and found shiny strips of material, resembling foil, floating in the air. Authorities contacted the Weather Bureau and the Akron-Canton Airport control tower, but no other witnesses were present. The material was later analyzed by military officials.
The official response identified the material as "chaff," a type of foil used by the Air Force for radar testing and jamming. According to reports, this material could have been dropped during military exercises. Although no UFO was confirmed, the official explanation dismissed more exotic possibilities, attributing the phenomenon to a routine Air Force exercise.
