🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1958, an observer reported a bright green light in the sky near Louisville, Kentucky. The sighting lasted between 2 and 6 seconds, and the object was described as round and luminous. Although initially intriguing, investigators concluded it was likely a meteor. The observation was made visually from the ground, with no photographs or radar data. The report noted that the object did not fall as fast as a typical star, causing some confusion. Ultimately, limited data pointed to an astronomical explanation.
The report, classified under Project 10073, was reviewed by military personnel and no evidence of unidentified activity was found. Despite the brief sighting, details such as the object's direction and weather conditions were recorded. The meteorologist involved confirmed high cloud cover, supporting the meteor theory. This case, though short, is part of the many historical records that help understand how UFO reports were handled at the time.
