🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1958, an aerospace technician at George AFB in California observed a bright object resembling a meteor. The report describes a "ball of fire with a tail," very bright and white, with a tail 50 times longer than the object. Although the witness initially thought it could be an aircraft, the final description pointed to an astronomical phenomenon. The sighting lasted between 5 and 10 seconds and the object disappeared suddenly to the west.
Preliminary analysis concluded it was likely a meteor, but the possibility of an Earth satellite was also considered. However, it could not be confirmed due to the lack of photographic or radar evidence. The report, classified under Project 10073, reflects the typical uncertainty of UFO cases from that era, where observations were hard to verify.
