In March 1958, a witness near Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, reported seeing a disc-shaped object approximately 30 feet in diameter. The object, described with white and blue edges that turned orange as it disappeared, was observed following commercial aircraft departing from New York. The witness, an electronics technician, used a calibrated 200-power telescope, but did not provide exact directional information. The object hovered over Fort Monmouth at around 3000 feet before rising vertically and vanishing.
