🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1958, an object was sighted near Dayton, Ohio, causing some public concern. It was described as small, slightly red, and moving southeast. Witnesses placed it between 1000 and 5000 feet in the air. Although initially considered a possible UFO, investigations confirmed it was a weather balloon released shortly before the sighting. The object's movement matched wind patterns, and its appearance supported this conclusion.
The case was thoroughly documented, including testimonies from military and civilian sources, and other explanations like astronomical bodies or aircraft were ruled out. Despite the clear resolution, the incident reflects how unidentified aerial objects can generate confusion and speculation, even when there is enough evidence to identify them.
