🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1958, two observers in Springfield, Ohio, reported seeing an object in the sky. According to the records, there were no photos or precise data such as time or number of objects. The only clear detail is that both saw steady and rotating lights under overcast conditions. Although a balloon or astronomical phenomenon were considered, the most likely conclusion pointed to a conventional aircraft. However, the lack of detailed information made a definitive evaluation difficult.
The official response was skeptical. An Air Force officer, Major Connair, noted that the information was insufficient and there were no concrete data to act upon. The proximity of Springfield to Wright Field, an important aviation center, made it plausible that the sighting was a plane. Still, the nature of the lights and the lack of clarity left the possibility of an unidentified phenomenon open.
