Summary

On April 15, 1958, witnesses along the Virginia coast reported seeing two bright objects with long red trails moving together westward over the Atlantic Ocean. The sighting was recorded by the Coast Guard and classified as likely meteors. Although no photos were taken, observers clearly described the parallel trajectory of the objects, which generated some interest at the time. The report concluded that the event was not a balloon, aircraft, or any other known phenomenon, but rather a common astronomical occurrence.

The case was filed under Project 10073 and sent to several military units for review. Despite the clear description, no additional evidence suggested an unconventional explanation. The report's classification was later removed, and it is now publicly accessible. This type of record helps understand how UFO sightings were handled in the 1950s, with a predominantly scientific and practical approach.
