UFO sighted by a B-47 in 1958

Summary

In April 1958, a B-47 bomber crew observed a round, silver object in the sky over New Hampshire and New York. The object appeared at the same time as the aircraft and moved in the same direction for about 12 minutes before disappearing. The crew took photographs, and enlargements showed a transparent object resembling a balloon. Although initially thought to be a weather balloon, its size and duration in the sky raised doubts. The experienced crew did not believe it was a regular balloon.

Later investigations confirmed that an experimental balloon, S-393, was in the area at that time. However, the B-47 crew was not convinced it was the same object. The weather conditions were ideal for spotting aerial objects, and there were no radar confirmations of other aircraft. This experience remains a mystery, as no definitive identification of the UFO was achieved.
