🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1958, two millworkers in Pelham, Georgia, spotted a round object the size of a baseball. The object appeared from the southwest and slowly moved westward for about 20 minutes. Although witnesses described it as metallic, no photos were taken and there were no wind or elevation data recorded. The lack of weather and radar information made it difficult to evaluate the sighting definitively.
Investigators under Project 10073 concluded that while the description matched a balloon, the absence of essential data prevented a firm conclusion. The official report labeled it as "insufficient information," but noted that a balloon was a plausible explanation. This case exemplifies how missing data can leave many possibilities open, including conventional explanations.
