🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1958, a pilot flying a C-124 at 13,000 feet observed a round, bluish-white object the size of a basketball. This object emitted a white beam toward the horizon and was moving in a southeast direction. The sighting lasted 10 minutes before the object disappeared into space. Although initially puzzling, investigators concluded it was likely a rotating beacon from a U.S. Atlantic weather station. The clear sky and the location of the sighting support this explanation, suggesting the light was reflecting from the water's surface.
The object's description and behavior initially caused some alarm, but available data and the geographic context led to the conclusion that it was not an unexplained phenomenon. The location of the sighting, northwest of Bermuda, matches the operating area of a known weather station equipped with rotating beacons visible from great distances. This case illustrates how what seems supernatural can have a simple explanation once available data is analyzed.
