Double UFO seen over Wauwatosa in 1958

Summary

In May 1958, a civilian witness observed two round objects flying in tight formation. Each was the size of a half-dollar coin and had a red light on top. They moved eastward at low altitude, without maneuvers. The witness saw them for a minute and a half before they vanished over the horizon. Although it was considered possibly an aircraft, their position and formation were unusual.

The base in Milwaukee reported no radar or photographic activity. The weather was clear with excellent visibility, and no significant aerial activity was recorded. It was considered that perhaps a high-speed aircraft in formation showed only wingtip lights. However, the description and formation didn't match the norm, leaving the door open for other explanations.
