🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1958, a witness in Farmington, New Mexico, spotted an oval object the size of a half-dollar, bright yellow in color. The object appeared suddenly at night and disappeared after three seconds, leaving no trace. Although the report mentions no photographs or additional data, the assigned officer classified it as "possibly astronomical," suggesting it could have been a meteor. The brief description and lack of concrete evidence led to the case being considered insufficient for further evaluation.
The witness, a 49-year-old doctor, contacted the air intelligence center to report the sighting. Despite the lack of details on the object's trajectory or behavior, the fact that it was officially recorded in the air intelligence system reflects the interest of the time in unidentified sightings. The case, though brief, is part of the long history of UFO reports that often end without a clear explanation, but that help understand the context of the era.
