🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1958, a witness in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, reported seeing a red fireball with a tail or exhaust of 50 to 60 feet. The object was observed for 5 to 10 seconds and was traveling north. Although a meteor was considered, no definitive explanation was reached. The sighting was documented in a military report, noting the witness was a civilian and the observation was reported via local radio.
The report also included weather data from the area, but the object was not conclusively identified. It was mentioned that four other people had reported the same phenomenon, suggesting it was visible to multiple witnesses. Despite this, no definitive conclusion about the nature of the object was reached.
