🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1958, a witness in Red Springs, North Carolina, reported seeing six lights arranged in an inverted triangular formation. The observer, using binoculars, described the objects as white, aircraft-sized, and maintaining their formation for three minutes. The formation moved from a point at 30 degrees elevation to another at 35 degrees, following a southeast trajectory. Although initially considered possible balloons or astronomical phenomena, the official conclusion was that it was an aerial refueling operation. This report was reviewed by several Air Force units, including the 464th TRCWGM, and it was confirmed that it matched a refueling mission conducted in the area. The report did not include photographs but did include weather data and additional testimonies supporting the conventional explanation.
