🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1958, a witness in Albuquerque, New Mexico, reported a luminous object the size of a pea with a blue-purple flame. The object was seen for three seconds and left a trail, suggesting extremely high speed. Despite adverse conditions, including clouds and variable winds, the report concluded it was likely a meteor. The observer had experience in airway operations, adding credibility to the account. There were no photos or radar involved, only a ground-based visual observation.
