🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1958, a woman from Indiana submitted an 8mm film to the U.S. Air Force, claiming it showed an unidentified flying object near Lincoln, Nebraska. The film was analyzed under Project 10073, but investigators concluded that the bright spots observed were reflections caused by objects inside the photographer’s car. Despite this, the film resurfaced in 1960, when it was linked to a mysterious airline crash in March of that year. The informant, who wanted to keep her identity secret, believed the UFO might be connected to the incident.
The film provided no conclusive evidence, but generated interest due to its link with an unexplained air disaster. The woman, who was under stress and feared public attention, insisted the material be returned after analysis. Eventually, technicians concluded there were no unidentified objects, just optical artifacts. Although nothing supernatural was found, the case reflects how unexplained air incidents were often linked to UFO sightings.
