🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1958, a woman from Xenia-Bellbrook, Ohio, reported a bright object in the sky between 4:30 and 5:30 in the morning. She described it as a very bright star that sometimes appeared as three lights. The object remained stationary for an hour, which was unusual enough to prompt a report. The observation was made visually, without instruments, and although no photos were taken, the witness insisted it was not an airplane or balloon.
After a follow-up phone call, investigators concluded the event was Venus, which was rising in the northeast at that time. Astronomical calculations matched the location and time of the sighting. It was also noted that clouds might have distorted the perception, creating the illusion of multiple lights. Although there were no other radar reports or nearby flights, the official file classified the event as astronomical.
