🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A white, round object the size of a baseball was sighted in Pyongteak, Korea, in July 1958. Witnesses described it as bright as the planet Jupiter, moving at an estimated speed of 600 to 800 miles per hour. The sighting lasted between 15 and 20 seconds, raising questions about whether it was a meteor or another phenomenon. However, it did not match all typical meteor characteristics, and no photos or additional records were taken. The duration of the sighting and the indicated speed did not align with the distance traveled, complicating the evaluation. Ultimately, the case was classified as "insufficient data for evaluation," leaving the nature of the object unresolved.
The exact location of the sighting was recorded with geographic coordinates, and the report includes details about weather conditions and visibility. Despite the sole witness being a member of a medical unit, there were no additional comments or follow-up. This case is part of a series of UFO reports analyzed by Project 10073, where many cases remained unsolved due to lack of information or contradictions in the data.
