🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1958, a Miami police sergeant reported a very bright light in the sky, 20 times brighter than a star. The sighting was recorded at 09:45 and described as motionless, located directly east of the city. Although no photos were taken and the duration was not specified, investigators concluded it was likely the star Aldebaran, whose position matched the description. The light was attributed to atmospheric conditions distorting the appearance of an astronomical body.
The report, under Project 10073, was considered insufficient for a full evaluation due to lack of detailed data. However, it was noted that the position and brightness matched Aldebaran, though slightly lower than estimated. Despite the limitations, the sighting was consistent with an astronomical body seen under abnormal atmospheric conditions. The case was archived without further investigation.
