🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A ring of light with a dark center was observed over Brooklyn in 1958. The object ascended and shrank in size, moving in and out of clouds. A civilian lawyer reported it for five minutes, with no similar sightings from the local population. The night was partly cloudy and clear, with light wind.
Air traffic control and nearby airports did not record the event. There were no photos or radar data, and the official evaluation concluded there was insufficient information to determine the object’s nature. Though a giant spotlight was ruled out, the case remains unexplained.
