🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A luminous object was observed 12 times over Udine, Italy, between July and August 1958. Witnesses described it as a "firefly" moving at high speed and altitude. Italian jets attempted to photograph it, but no conclusive images were obtained. The official evaluation suggested it was a satellite, though no precise identification was made. The repeated sightings and regular pattern indicated it was not an isolated event. Calculations based on photographs and astronomical observations estimated the object was at around 450 km altitude and traveling at 16,500 km/h.
