🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 47-year-old man in Houston, Texas, observed a white light with a yellowish tint, the size of a pinhead, moving rapidly from east to west. The witness, an oil refinery supervisor, saw the object from his front steps on the night of August 4, 1958, at 02:20 local time. The light moved in a straight line, though not perfectly straight, and gradually disappeared over two minutes. The report concluded it was likely an aircraft, though it wasn't detected on radar and no sound was heard. The area had favorable weather conditions, with 15 miles visibility and strong winds at high altitudes.
The official report classified it as "probably an aircraft," but other possibilities weren't ruled out. The witness didn't take photos and no interception occurred. Additionally, it was noted that there was heavy air traffic in the area, which could explain the sighting. Despite the lack of physical or radar evidence, the case was documented as part of the Air Force's Project 10073.
