In August 1958, a witness in St Louis, Missouri, reported seeing a bright pinpoint of light rising toward the southwest. The object was observed for two minutes before suddenly disappearing. The witness, a machinist, described the light as reddish in color, moving in a southwest direction, which caused some alarm. The weather conditions were cloudy and rainy, making clear visibility difficult. Although a balloon was considered a possibility, an aircraft was also suggested. The lack of definitive confirmation and the object's sudden disappearance add mystery to this case.
