🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1958, a witness in Olean, New York, observed a round, silver object the size of a normal plate. The object emitted a loud roar and disappeared to the southeast at about 5,000 feet. The sighting lasted only 10 seconds and occurred during daylight. Investigators considered various possibilities such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena, but concluded that the data was insufficient for a definitive evaluation.
The lack of photographs and the brief duration of the sighting complicated the analysis. Although the possibility of a plane reflection was ruled out due to the sun's angles, the object could not be identified with certainty. This case remains one of those aerial mysteries without a clear explanation, adding a touch of enigma to the history of UFOs in the 1950s.
