On the early morning of August 12, 1958, a woman in Iowa was awakened by a bright white light entering her bedroom window, similar to headlights of a car. The object, described as round and the size of the rising sun at a distance, was moving horizontally at low altitude over cornfields. Three other witnesses in Nebraska reported a green glowing object with a yellow or red tail, creating confusion about its nature. Although a meteor was considered likely, the lack of precise data such as direction or radar kept the case unresolved.
