🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1958, an officer and co-pilot sighted a bright object in the North Pacific. The object, greenish-white in color, appeared the size of a pea at arm's length. It left no trail and no sound was heard. The sighting lasted only two seconds, but it was enough to observe how a part of the object separated and fell, followed by an explosion without an increase in brightness. Although initially considered a meteor, the detailed description and lack of radar contact created some uncertainty.
The observation was recorded as a possible bolide, but the limited data and the inability to confirm with other aircraft in the area left many questions unanswered. The report was declassified in 1962 and later in three-year intervals. Although it was concluded to be an astronomical phenomenon, the object's description and behavior remain a topic of debate among UFO researchers.
