In September 1958, U.S. Air Force pilots at Thule AFB in Greenland sighted an unidentified object that emitted a bright, blinking light and moved at an extraordinary speed. The object, described as the size of the North Star, appeared on the northern horizon and quickly ascended, disappearing for about 15 seconds before reappearing.
